Beginning with the October 2015 royalty statements (check that statement for your payment date), if you haven’t chosen Payoneer or PayPal we won’t be able to pay you, so please make a selection to avoid interruption in receiving payments.

Q: I haven’t chosen a new payment option, what can I expect?

A: If you have royalties due to you and haven’t chosen PayPal or Payoneer, we will send you an email notifying you, at which time you’ll need to make a choice in order to receive payment. You’ll want to act as soon as you receive that email to avoid any delay in payment.

Q: What are the available options?

A: The options available will depend on your country. The complete options are:

USD Prepaid Mastercard (powered by Payoneer). The Payoneer Prepaid Mastercard is accepted globally in stores, online or at ATMs; or withdraw to your local bank account at low cost.
USD Direct Deposit ACH (available for US contributors only, powered by Payoneer). Get paid directly to your US bank account.
Local Currency Bank Transfer (powered by Payoneer) Get paid directly to your bank account in over 70 countries in your local currency.
International Wire Bank Transfer (SWIFT powered by Payoneer) Get paid directly to your bank account in 200 countries.
Paper check (powered by Payoneer). A check in your local currency will be mailed to the name and address listed in your Payoneer profile. Delivery times may vary, please allow 2 to 4 weeks delivery.
USD PayPal. Get paid directly to your PayPal account. Please note that PayPal limits payments exceeding $10,000 so if you regularly receive payments above this limit and choose PayPal, please contact them to confirm they can process these payments or choose a Payoneer option.

Q: How do I update my payment information?

A: The following information will direct you to pages within the Getty Images Account Management tool where you go to access your royalty, and profile information. To access Account Management, log-in ESP below and navigate to Account Management:

http://esp.gettyimages.com/

Once signed in click on the Payment tab in the Profile section to review your current payment method and select a new payment option at your earliest convenience.

IMPORTANT NOTE
Choosing one of the new payment methods and clicking the next button changes your payment method in our systems, therefore it’s very important to complete your registration with Payoneer or PayPal to avoid an interruption of your payments.

Payoneer Our preferred provider
Choosing one of the three options indicating ‘powered by Payoneer’ will take you to the Payoneer website to register and create a Payoneer account. It’s important to do this from the payment option page so your Getty Images account is linked properly with new Payoneer account and to make sure you receive the lower fees associated with our arrangement with Payoneer. If you already have a Payoneer account you will be able to link that account by choosing one of the ‘powered by Payoneer’ options. If you mistakenly register direct with Payoneer, please see the FAQ below on how to associate that account with the Getty Images program.

PayPal
Choosing the PayPal option will ask you for the email address associated with your PayPal account, or allow you to access PayPal to create an account.

Q: What are the payment fees that I will be charged?

A: The fee schedule for each payment type is as follows. These fees are charged by the payment processor:

USD PayPal $0
Paper Check $0
USD Direct Deposit ACH (available for US contributors only) $0
USD Prepaid Mastercard $0
Local Currency Bank Transfer $0 + exchange rate fee depending on currency
International Wire Bank Transfer $9.00 + exchange fee depending on currency

Fees indicated are the fees the third party charges for choosing that payment option and do not include one-time card and monthly maintenance fees, exchange rate fees, or bank fees. Most fees that PayPal or Payoneer charge will be made clear while registering for a certain payment option.

Q: What are exchange rate fees?

A: Getty Images will issue payment in USD. If the payment requires conversion to local currency PayPal or Payoneer will charge an exchange fee. For Payoneer your exchange rate (typically between 1.5% and 2.75% above mid-market rate) will be displayed when you register for Payoneer and select your country.

Q: What is it going to cost me to receive my payment?

A: What it will cost to receive payment is going to vary by contributor. The provider you select, the method you choose, the country you are in, the currency that you will receive will all determine your individual cost. There is a comprehensive list here that details the payment options and currency available by country and the fee for selecting that option. The fees indicated there do not include any one-time card and monthly maintenance fees, exchange rate fees, or bank fees that you may be subject to. Most fees that PayPal or Payoneer charge will be made clear while registering for a certain payment option.

Q: I want more information on what I will be charged before I select an option. Where do I go for answers?

A: Payoneer has set up an email specifically for Getty Images contributor questions. They can be contacted at gettyimages@payoneer.com if you would like to contact them before making your selection.

The Fees section of the PayPal User Agreement has specific information. You can find the User Agreement by clicking Legal Agreements at the bottom of any PayPal page. There are also Contact Us links available on the PayPal website.

Q: I already have an account with Payoneer. Do I have to create another one?

A: No. Choosing one of the three options indicating ‘powered by Payoneer’ will take you to the Payoneer website. It’s important to do this from the payment option page so your Getty Images account is linked to your Payoneer account. When you arrive at their registration page you will see an option in the top right for existing users. From there you simply need to enter your username and password to link your existing Payoneer account.

Q: Can I use the same Payoneer account if I have more than one contributor account with Getty/iStock?

A: Yes. If you’ve already registered for a Payoneer account via iStock.com, Account Management, or another platform then all you would need to do when setting up your payment method is ensure that you select the “Already have a Payoneer account? Sign-in” link.

Q: I mistakenly registered directly with Payoneer directly rather than going through Getty Images account management, how do I fix this?

A: If the registration through the Payoneer website is either already in progress or completed, please carefully follow these instructions:

If you realize the error before the registration is complete notify Payoneer Customer Support right away through the dedicated email address gettyimages@payoneer.com. The Payoneer support team can disable that incomplete registration and allow the contributor to sign-up again (from scratch) through the Getty Images account management.

If you have successfully completed registration directly through the Payoneer website, take these steps immediately:

1. Sign into your Getty Images account
The following information will direct you to pages within the Getty Images Account Management tool where you go to access your royalty, and profile information. To access Account Management, log into ESP:

http://esp.gettyimages.com/

Once signed in click on the Payment tab in the Profile section to select a Payoneer option.

2. Provide a remittance email
You’ll be asked to provide a remittance email, which is simply an email to notify you when we are making a payment.

3. Welcome to Payoneer
You’ll see the following screen and you’ll want to click on the section ‘Already have a Payoneer Account?

payoneer1

Sign in using the Payoneer username and password you created when you registered directly with Payoneer. This will tell Payoneer that this Payoneer account is part of the Getty Images program.

4. Email Payoneer
Email gettyimages@payoneer.com to let them know you are part of the Getty Images program, this way they can ensure you receive the agreed upon lower fees that we’ve negotiated on your behalf with Payoneer.

Q: I set up a Payoneer account and I see that I’m being charged a $29.95 annual account maintenance fee, why?

A: The $29.95 fee applies to all those who register through the Payoneer website for a prepaid card, as opposed to through the Getty Images account management platform. Another reason why it’s important to go through account management when setting up your account. We have a special program with Payoneer, but you need to register through account management so that Payoneer knows you are a Getty Images contributor. If you have done this please follow the instructions in the previous FAQ, and then contact Payoneer to let them know you are part of the Getty Images program.

Q: I’m a business and I am having a problem signing up for Payoneer’s PrePaid Mastercard option. What is the problem?

A: You must be an individual to sign up for PrePaid Mastercard (providing this option is available in your country). If you are registered as a business Payoneer’s PrePaid Mastercard will not be an option.

Q: I’ve signed up with Payoneer Mastercard or Bank Transfer and I want to switch to Paper Check. What do I do?

A: If you currently have a Payoneer method selected and want to switch to paper check, please contact Payoneer. Switching to check is currently not supported via the Payoneer website (providing this option is available in your country).
